HARTFORD, Conn.--Trinity College (Conn.) shot 52% in the second half on its way to a 83-65 win over Keene State College in non-conference action on Monday night.

Tale of the Tape

 

  • Nate Stitchell led Keene State with 21 points, 18 of which came in the first half.  The senior knocked down five of his eight attempts behind the arc.  
  • Jaquel Edwards pumped in 13 points off the bench, while Matt Ozzella had 12.  Edwards and Ozzella each had six rebounds.  
  • Shay Ajayi led the Bantams, who reached the Elite Eight a season ago, with 19 points.  Ed Ogundeko and Jaquann Starks both had 15.  Trinity committed a mere 10 turnovers.

 


First Half Highlights

  • Keene State made its first five shots from the field, taking a 14-7 lead on Stitchell's three with 16:40 on the clock.
  • The Bantams pulled back in front with a 17-7 run capped by Starks' three point play for a 24-21 lead.  
  • Keene State tied the game at 35 on a three from Stitchell with 2:53 remaining, only to see Trinity close out the half on a 7-1 burst to take a 42-36 lead at the break. 

Second Half Highlights

  • Stitchell made yet another three with two minutes played in the second half to pull Keene State within 46-43.
  • Trinity responded with 11 of the next 13 points, as Andrew Hurd made a pair of threes and Chris Turnbull made another with 15:15 on the clock for a 57-45 lead.
  • Edwards' jumper with 9:49 to go cut the lead to 62-57, but the Owls would not get closer, as the Bantams outscored KSC 21-6 the rest of the way.
