PLYMOUTH, N.H.--The Keene State College track and field team were in action at the Little East Conference championships at ALLWell North Center at Plymouth State University on Saturday.
The Keene State women were fourth overall and second amongst LEC schools, while the men were eighth overall, and fourth among LEC competition.
Women
- The women claimed four championships, including a double by Lindsay Szuch. The junior won the 3,000 meters in 11:04.29, nearly two full seconds ahead of her nearest competitor, and the 5,000 meters in 18:49.70, a dominating performance that saw her win by nearly a full minute. Szuch qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the 5,000.
- Lauren Markoe, Brittany Gravallese, Alison Brady, and Alyssa Lombardi placed first in the 4x800 meter relay in 10:11.06, a 25 second victory over UMass Dartmouth.
- Karisa Bergman won the weight throw with a toss of 13.83 meters, to beat Southern Maine's Briana Pina by .68 meters. Bergman was also second in the shotput at 11.47 meters. The sophomore qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the weight throw.
- Brady was fifth in the 600 meters in 1:44.99, while Markoe was second in the 800 meters in 2:21.59. Gravallese was third in the 800 meters in 2:26.95.
- Lombardi was second in the 1,000 meters in 3:17.30 and fourth in the mile in 5:37.42. Markoe, Lombardi, Gravallese, and Amy Pereira comprised the 4x400 meter relay that was third in 4:17.84.
- Pereira was third in the long jump at 5.11 meters and fourth in the shot put in 10.77 meters.
Men
- Jared Hannon claimed the lone men's title, winning the long jump in 6.53 meters to qualify for the New England Division III Championships.
- Phil Parent was second in the 5,000 meters in 15:38.98. Mark Rabasco was fourth in the same event in 15:52.02.
- Hannon, Eric Dietz, Quentin Bazarnicki, and Devin Sanford finished second in the 4x400 meter relay in 3:31.40.
- Sanford was fifth in the 400 meters in 52.86, just ahead of Dietz in 52.95.
- Tyler DeChane was fourth in the 1,000 meters in 2:43.37, and Kody Parrott was fifth in 2:45.57.
- Iid Sheikh-Yusuf was fourth in the 3,000 meters in 9:17.62 and fifth in the mile in 4:40.92. Bazarnicki was fifth in the pole vault in exactly 4.00 meters.
