Records Fall On Final Day of NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C.--Ryan Boraski added yet another All-American honor to his trophy case, setting a new school record in the process, with a third place finish in the 100 freestyle on the final day of the NCAA Division III Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center on Saturday.

Boraski, who had held the previous mark of 44.54, originally broke the record in the morning preliminary with a fifth place finish of 44.42.   In the evening's championship final, the junior bettered his morning time by .18, in 44.24.

Alison Bartlett was close to breaking her own record in the 100 free, finishing in 51.16 for 11th place in the preliminary.  In the evening's consolation final, Bartlett placed 16th in 51.80 to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Finally, the men's 400 freestyle relay team of Boraski, Greg Youngstrom, Cole Hogg, and Christopher Barriss set a new mark.  The foursome broke the previous record of 3.01.75 first in the morning preliminary, in 3.00.77, then rebroke it in the championship final in 2:59.76, finishing fifth to pick up another All-America honor.

The Owl men, sending just four swimmers to the NCAAs, finished 13th as a team with 91 points.  Bartlett, as KSC's only female swimmer, placed the Owls 35th of 54 teams with 16 points.
