NEW HAVEN, Conn.--Senior Kaitlin Wheeler finished eighth overall in the steeplechase at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championships on Saturday at Southern Connecticut State University.
Wheeler picked up an All-New England honor by finishing in 11:11.88, the third fastest time by a Division III runner. She currently has the 19th best time in Division III in the event - the top 22 will qualify for the NCAA Championships in two weeks in Waverly, Iowa.
The KSC 4x400 relay team finished seventh in 3:59.04 to add another All-New England nod. Katelyn Terry was 18th overall in the 400 meter dash in 57.61, while Lauren Markoe was 21st in the 800 meters in 2:19.23. Brittany Gravallese was 28th in the same event in 2:23.35.
Karisa Bergman was 22nd in the shot put with a throw of 11.25 meters. Ashley Rozzi finished 17th in the javelin at 36.57 meters and Dominique Pascoal was 20th with a throw of exactly 36 meters.
For the KSC men, Ryan Brady was 14th overall in the steeplechase with a time of 9:47.35. Jared Hannon was 13th in the long jump at 6.74 meters, while Alex Magoon was 22nd in the javelin with a toss of 50.12 meters.
The Owl relays also placed in the top 20, with the 4x400 meter relay placing 19th in 3:31.23, and the 4x800 16th in 8:09.87.
