Box Score DANBURY, Conn.--Senior forward Sami Smith wrote her name into the Keene State College record books, becoming the programs' all-time leading scorer in a 6-1 Little East Conference win over Western Connecticut State University on Saturday night.

- Smith scored twice, her 11th and 12th of the season, to break a 31 year old scoring record held by KSC Hall of Famer Kay Mulcahy. Smith now has 66 goals and 23 assists in her career giving her 155 points.
- Mulcahy, who played from 1982-85, scored 70 goals and set up 12 more.
- Smith's 66 goals leave her alone in second place in that category, needing five to break Mulcahy's record of 70.
- Erica Stauffer also netted a pair of goals for the Owls, while Julia Babbitt had one, and Nicole Tobin marked her collegiate debut with a goal. Brittney Cardente and Kayla Renaud each had two assists for the Owls, who scored all their goals in the first half.
First Half Highlights
- It look less than three minutes for the record breaking goal to arrive, as Sami Smith scored off a pass from sister Casi Smith for a 1-0 lead just 2:52 into the game.
- Eight minutes later, it was 2-0, as Stauffer knocked in her first of the game in the 11th minute. Stauffer added her second and KSC's third five minutes after that.
- The goals kept flowing, as Babbitt scored in the 18th minute, and Sami Smith added her second of the game in the 25th.
- Tobin closed out the KSC scoring with less than a minute to go before halftime, slotting home a pass from Kayla Renaud.
Second Half Highlights
- The Owls, who outshot the Colonials 23-12 for the game, could have added to the lead in the second half, but could not beat WCSU goalie Kristy Trotta, who finished with 10 saves.
- Western Connecticut State broke up the shutout as time expired, as Greta McConnell scored on a penalty stroke.
