How It Happened

Sandi Purcell had 15 points, four rebounds, three steals and a block for Keene State. Emily McPadden added 10 points, four rebounds, one steal and one block.

Endicott put three starters in double-figures. Emily Pratt had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal. Gabriella Coppola had 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal, while Hannah Kiernan had 12 points, three assists and two steals.

The Gulls started fast and cruised from there, making 6-of-11 from the field in the first quarter while holding Keene State to just one field goal, a Purcell layup that made it 4-2 with 5:56 left. A three from Pratt and two layups from Kaleigh Putnam helped the Gulls pull away to a 16-2 lead after the first quarter. Endicott opened the second quarter by scoring ten of the first 15 points for a 26-7 lead, capped by two buckets from Mikaela Rogers. The Owls got a three and a layup in succession from McPadden with 2:37 left in the quarter, but the Gulls scored the final six points of the half for a 32-12 advantage.

The third quarter did see both offenses in gear, as there were a combined 43 points scored in that quarter alone after just 44 in the entire first half. However, Keene State was unable to make any dent in the deficit. Endicott used a 13-6 run over the first four minutes to lead 45-18 and they still led 57-30 after Coppola's three in the final seconds of the quarter. The Gulls led by as many as 32 in the final quarter before setting on the 70-40 final.

Inside the Paint

  • The Owls shot just 25% from the field while making 4-of-20 threes. Endicott made 53% of their shots overall and 6-of-15 from beyond the arc. The Gulls also assisted on 19 of their 28 made field goals.
  • Endicott dominated the glass, outrebounding the Owls 40-23.
  • Endicott has now won two straight over Keene State after three straight losses. Overall, the Owls have won seven of ten matchups in the all-time series.
  • Purcell's 15 points now give her 1,085 for her career, leaving her just outside the top 10 in school history.  She needs 111 points to match Bri Barnes, who played from 2003-07 and is currently in 10th place.  At her current scoring pace of 14.5 points per game, she will move into the top 10 in eight games.
