BRIDGEWATER, Mass.--Ben MacDonald and Jared Hannon claimed Little East Conference crowns as the Keene State College track and field team competed at the LEC Championships, hosted by Bridgewater State University on Saturday afternoon.
Men's Highlights
Hannon won the long jump in 7.06 meters (23'2"), claiming his second career LEC long jump title after winning it as a freshman in 2016. Hannon (2016, 2018) and Frank Radlof remain the only long jumpers in school history to claim an LEC title.
MacDonald dominated the 10,000 meters in 32:42.92, finishing more than a minute ahead of Southern Maine's Chandler Vincent. MacDonald is the 11th winner of the 10,000 meters in school history, joining Wilson Perez (1998), Scott Singleton (1999), Derrick Hamel (2003), Matt Haley (2004), Pat Ard (2005), Weston Forsblad (2006), Eric MacKnight (2007), Casey August (2009), Tim Pipp (2010), and Mark Rabasco (2016). MacDonald's time also qualified him for the New England Division III Championships.
Brandon Castor (50.63) and Clinton Mungeta (51.05) both qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the 400 meter dash, finishing third and fourth, respectively. Ian Connell finished third in the steeplechase in 10:13.00.
The Owls finished fifth with 60 points.
Women's Highlights
Brittany Gravallese picked up All-Conference honors in the 800 meter run, placing second in 2:24.68, and Lynne Hebert did the same in the 1,500 meters in 4:53.22. Lauren Perkowski was also All-LEC in the 10,000 meters in 42:02.91.
Hebert and Perkowski, along with Laura Dawson and Mila Barrera, made up the 4x800 meter relay team that finished second in 10:16.88. Erin McNemar qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the high jump, hitting the mark exactly at 1.54 meters.
Also picking up All-Conference honors was Dominique Pascoal, who placed second in the javelin with a throw of 37.43 meters. Keene State finished fifth, totalling 63 points.
