CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--The 2019 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships got underway on Thursday at the Alumni Pool at MIT.

The lone race of the night was the 800 free relay.  The women's foursome of Samantha Dickinson, Sophie Hayes, Paige Carey, and Molly O'Connor took third in 8:08.21.  Meanwhile, the men's grouping of Zach Payne, Quint Kimmel, Patrick Doyle, and Eric King were fifth overall in 7:16.97.

After day one, the women sit in third place with 54 points, while the men are in fifth with 28 points.
