NEW YORK, N.Y.--Angel Ramirez tied one school record and helped break another, while Clinton Mungeta also tied a school record as the Keene State College track and field teams competed at the ECAC Championships at The Armory in New York City over the weekend.

Men's Highlights

Ramirez ran the KSC record in the 60 meter dash, finishing in 7.17 to tie the mark set by Duran Shand in 2010.   Ramirez was also part of the record setting 4x200 meter relay team with Clinton Mungeta, Jared Hannon, and Anthony Jennings that set a new school mark in 1:32.53, which notched a second place finish.

Hannon also added a fourth place finish in the long jump at 6.62 meters, and Mungeta was fourth in the 400 meter dash in 50.10, tying the mark set by Eric Dietz in 2015.  Alex Medina was seventh in the 500 meter run in 1:08.39, while Tyler DeChane was sixth in the 1,000 meters in 2:38.03.  

Hannon, Mungeta, Medina and Jennings made up the 4x400 meter relay that was third in 3:26.02.   Keene State finished eighth overall out of 26 participating teams with 30.5 points.

Women's Highlights

Shannon Parks concluded her stellar freshman indoor campaign with a second place finish in the shot put at 11.71 meters.  Alexis Gauthier set a huge personal best in the pentathlon multi event with a score of 3006 to take runner-up honors in that event.  Gauthier set personal bests in 60m hurdles (9.35 sec), high jump (1.52 m), shot put (7.67m), and 800m (2:36.75)  and added a very respectable long jump effort of 4.91m.

Nicole De Almeida was seventh in the 200 meter dash in 26.83, and second in the 500 meter dash in 1:20.11.   Laura Dawson added a third place mark in the 800 meters in 2:21.24, just ahead of teammate Brittany Gravallese, who was fourth in the same event in 2:22.02.  

Another second place finish went to Lynne Hebert, who was second in the 1,000 meters in 3:05.65.  De Almeida, Gravallese, Amanda Deppert, and Skyler Gauthier made up the winning 4x200 meter relay that crossed the line in 1:49.12, and the same foursome comprised the 4x400 meter relay that finished third in 4:08.08.  The Owls were second overall with 77 points.  

Alexis Gauthier won the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 9.37, with Sykler Gauther in third in 9.65.

Also competing on Saturday at the Tufts Last Chance Invitational was Lauren Perkowski, who ran the 5,000 meters in 17:56.99.   Perkowski's season best time of 17:19.64 is currently 19th in the nation, and she will wait to see if she gets an invite to the NCAA Division III Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Mass.
