KEENE, N.H. - The Keene State College men's golf program wrapped up their first-ever fall by hosting their initial invitational at the Keene Country Club on Sunday. The Owls and Western Connecticut State University conducted a match play invitational, each winning three pairings on the day.
KSC picked up wins from
Cade Williams (def. Nick Bedell 4 and 2),
Zackary Gamble (def. Aaron Liner 6 and 5), and
Ethan Doherty (def. Aidan Mulligan 10 and 8). WestConn got victories from Fran Braun, who defeated the Owls'
Caden Capaldo 4 and 3, Cameron Bodamer (def.
Colin O'Brien 2 up), and Joe Larson (def.
Sean McCaffrey 3 and 2).
Capaldo was recently named the Little East Rookie of the Year after his sixth place (plus-14) finish at the championships. Braun had finished seven strokes behind him, at plus-21, in that event, which was held at the Ellington Ridge Country Club in Connecticut.
The event wraps up the first fall - for both the men and the women - as varsity golf programs.
