CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--Strong performances in the mile highlighted the opening day of action at the MIT Invitational at the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center Pool on Friday night.

Women's Highlights

• The meet opened with a 12th place finish in the 800 free relay by Jaelin Jang, Jillian O'Neil, Alice Loucraft, and Kiley Young in 8:09.49.
• Laura Chaffee was 10th in the mile in 19:45.90.
• Emily Rogers was 11th in the same event in 19:51.69.
• Keene State is currently sixth in the meet with 57 points.

Men's Highlights

• Aidan Urnezis, Braden Ledder, Quint Kimmel, and Aaron Turgeon were 10th in the 800 free relay in 7:29.10.
• Urnezis was also fifth in the mile in 16:52.11.
• Keene State is in fourth place with 65 points.

Competition resumes tomorrow with preliminaries at 10 am and finals at 6 p.m.
