Ratajack’s Career-High 8 Goals Lifts Owls to Dominating Victory Over Spartans

CASTLETON, Vt. -- Junior Haile Ratajack netted eight goals and tallied one assist to lead the Keene State College women's lacrosse team to an impressive 15-2 win over Castleton University at Dave Wolk Stadium on Tuesday night.

How It Happened 

The Owls jumped to an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Keene State scored 11 goals before the Spartans got on the scoreboard with under six minutes left in the third quarter. Six of the 11 goals came from Ratajack with five of the goals assisted by Hannah Dworkin. Freshman Chase Gengras netted a pair of goals while Emma Goodridge, MacKenzie MacGowan and Mindy St. Marie tallied a goal apiece for the Owls. Castleton Kimberly McCarthy took advantage of man up situation to score her first goal to get the Spartans on the board. Dworkin set up Ratajack to put the Owls up 12-1 after the third. 

Junior Jackie DeAngelis scored 17 seconds into the final quarter for Keene State, her tenth on the season. Ratajack netted her eighth goal of the game with another set up from teammate Dworkin. Freshman Kristin Leslie scored her first career goal with an assist from Ratajack to conclude the scoring for the Owls. The Spartans scored their second goal with just 27 seconds of play remaining. The Owls saw a triumphant 15-2 victory. 

Inside the Crease 

  • Ratajack's eight goals puts her at 38 goals on the season. She has scored 84 career goals for the Owls. 
  • Dworkin dished out seven assists, tying the Keene State record for assists in a single game. 
  • The Owls outshot the Spartans 44-9 and went 17-21 on clear attempts. 
  • Senior goalkeeper Haley Terva recorded four saves for the Owls.
