Ratajack Breaks Single-Season Caused Turnover Record in 19-2 Win Over Corsairs

KEENE, N.H. -- Junior Haile Ratajack generated seven caused turnovers to become the all-time single-season caused turnover record holder in Keene State College women's lacrosse history, as the Owls picked up a convincing 19-2 win over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Wednesday night at the Owl Athletic Complex.

How It Happened 

The Owls dominated right from the start with Ratajack netting her first goal of the game less than one minute into play. Sophomore Hannah Dworkin scored two for the Owls while Mindy St. Marie tallied one. Ratajack found the back of the net again to give the Owls a 5-0 lead.  The Corsairs scored their two goals of the game with less than five minutes remaining. The Owls led 5-2 after the first quarter. 

The Owls shut out the Corsairs for the remainder of the action. The Owls took advantage of the Corsairs in the second, netting eight goals from five different players. Dworkin, St. Marie, and Ratajack scored two goals apiece while freshman Chase Gengras and senior Emma Goodridge tallied a goal each to give the Owls a 13-2 lead after the first half. 

Keene State continued the offensive run in the third quarter, outscoring the Corsairs 4-0. Jackie DeAngelis tallied one goal and senior Katie Moorehead scored her first career goal for the Owls. Dworkin and Ratajack each netted their fifth goals of the game for the Owls to lead 17-2. 

Action slowed in the final quarter, as the Owls tallied a goal each from Amethyst Phelps and Kristin Leslie. The Owls finished with a dominating 19-2 victory. 

Inside the Crease 

  • Ratajack has recorded 48 caused turnovers this season, breaking the individual single-season record previously held by Tara Kilderry from 2017. She netted five goals and recorded two assists, bringing her season goals to 49 and total career goals to 95. 
  • Dworkin tallied five goals and dished out five assists for the Owls. She has scored 14 goals on the season, and eight goals in the last two games. 
  • The Owls outshot their opponents 36-11.
  • The Owls lead the all-time series 20-5 with a 19-game winning streak. The Corsairs last defeated the Owls in 2003. 
  • Goalkeeper Haley Terva made four saves for the Owls.
