Matt Schmidt picked up his first collegiate coaching win as the Keene State College men's soccer team defeated New England College 3-1 Sunday at Dr. Ron Butcher Field.

How it Happened
In their first home match of the Owls jumped ahead at the 27:21 mark when senior midfielder
Declan Coughlin sent a pass into the box, where senior forward
Mbambi Mbungu took the ball and scored his second goal in as many games to give Keene State a 1-0 lead. The Owls took that lead into halftime.
In the second half, KSC extended its lead when freshman midfielder
Elias Stowell-Aleman scored his first collegiate goal to make it a 2-0 lead for the Owls at the 66:36 mark. Senior midfielder
Noah Spaulding picked up his first assist of the season on that play.
The Pilgrims made it 2-1 at the 71:10 mark when junior forward Logan Cassin scored his fourth goal of the season. Just over two minutes later at 73:12, Cassin had a chance to tie the game with a penalty kick. But his shot was stopped by KSC senior goalkeeper
Anthony Pasciuto, who dove to his right to keep the ball out of the net.
Keene State added an insurance goal at 78:44 when senior defender
Wyatt Linville sent a quick pass in front of the box to Mbungu. Mbungu then sent the ball into the box, where Coughlin scored his second goal of the season.
