PROVIDENCE, R.I.--Eight Keene State College student-athletes received weekly honors from the Little East Conference, the league office has announced.
Women's Soccer
Junior midfielder
Elizabeth Kopicko (Nashua, N.H.) was named the LEC Offensive Player of the Week.  Kopicko, who had not registered a goal in her first 30 collegiate games, broke that duck in a big way, scoring twice to propel the Owls to a 2-0 win over Elms College on September 17.  The next day, she did one better, netting a hat-trick as the Owls scored a 3-1 road win over Husson College.  It was the first hat-trick by a KSC player since
Maya Baker and
Amanda Marshall each netted three goals against Rhode Island College on April 8, 2021.
Freshman goalkeeper
Riley Andriski (Newmarket, N.H.) was named the LEC Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. Andriski made two appearances last week for Keene State; first, she came on in relief for the final 60 minutes against Westfield State, making nine saves.  She then made her third start of the year against Husson, recording 10 more stops for her second double-digit save game of the season against the Eagles.
Kopicko, Andriski, and the Owls travel to Worcester State on September 20th for a 7 p.m. start, followed by the opening of Little East Conference play at defending champion Western Connecticut State on Friday, September 23.
Field Hockey
Senior defender
Lauren Hausser (Metuchen, N.J.) was named the LEC Defensive Player of the Week. Hausser recorded a defensive save early in the fourth quarter against Eastern Connecticut when the score was still 2-1; the Owls would score again eight minutes later to wrap up a 3-1 victory against the Warriors in a rematch of the 2021 LEC Championship final.
Freshman goaltender
Clara Gorman (Stratham, N.H.) was named the LEC Goalkeeper of the Week.  Gorman played the first 37:44 against No. 12 Amherst College, making six saves, before going the distance against Eastern Conn. State, making four stops as the Owls grabbed their first conference win of the year.
Keene State remains home this week to host New England College on September 21 at 6:30 p.m., after which comes a date at Western Connecticut State on September 24 at 1 p.m.
