Women Second, Men Sixth at LEC Indoor Track Championships

PLYMOUTH, N.H.—Jacob Pearl, Shannon Parks, and the women's 4x800 meter relay squad all won titles as the Keene State College track and field team competed at the Little East Conference Championships at the AllWell North Track and Field Facility at Plymouth State University on Saturday.

Men's Highlights

  • Jacob Pearl won the 1,000 meters in 2:32.63, and was second in the mile in 4:19.49.  Pearl defended his title in the 1,000 meters, with a four second improvement on his 2022 time.  He is the seventh Owl and win the 1,000 meters, joining Kyle Zawistowski (1998), Josh Brock (1999), Mark Miller (2000-01), David Bridgewater (2003-05), Ryan Widzgowski (2013-14), and Hayden Patterson (2015)
  • Aidan Law was fourth in the 200 meters in 23.13, and third in the long jump at 6.63 meters.
  • Dawson Hamele was seventh in the 400 meters in 54.03, and was sixth in the high jump at 1.80 meters.
  • Tristan Berg was seventh in the high jump, also at 1.80 meters.
  • Eden Damis was second in the triple jump at 13.60 meters.
  • Kyle Maruca was fifth in the shot put at 13 meters.
  • Keene State was sixth overall with 44 points.

Women's Highlights

  • The 4x800 meter relay team of Anna O'Reilly, Aurora Couto, Alana Perry, and Maggie St. John won the 4x800 meter relay in 10:36.66.  It's the 12th time Keene State has won the 4x800, and first since 2016.
  • Shannon Parks won the shot put in 12.36 meters, and was also third in the weight throw in 14.52 meters.  She becomes the first-ever three-time winner in the LEC in the indoor version of the event, having won with a 12.16 meter mark in 2019 and a 12.15 mark in 2020.
  • Marlena Dwyer was third in the 600 meters in 1:46.28.
  • Maggie St. John was second in the 1,000 meters in 3:13.60, and third in the mile in 5:25.65.
  • Grace Furlong was third in the 3,000 meters in 10:55.00, and second in the 5,000 meters in 18:47.07.
  • Aurora Couto was fourth in the 1,000 meters, in 3:23.31.
  • Hannah Jones was fourth in the 3,000 meters, in 11:27.65., and third in the 5,000 meters in 19:47.74.
  • Molly Lu McKellar was third in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.79.
  • Savannah Soleau was fourth in the shot put at 12.02 meters.
  • Keene State was runner-up with 89 points.
