How it Happened
Keene State jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter on goals by freshman midfielder Tim Souza and sophomore midfielder Giacomo Tedone. Souza's goal was the first of his collegiate career, while freshman midfielder Jaheim Lancaster picked up his first collegiate assist on Tedone's tally. Eastern Connecticut State quickly battled back, however, with goals by junior midfielder Zacharie Appolon and sophomore midfielder Dan Barron to tie the game at two. Keene State's Rex Maccarini and Eastern Connecticut State's Warren Channing each added a goal to make it 3-3 with 5:10 remaining in the first. The Owls would not be deterred by the Warriors' challenge.

KSC scored the next five goals, with tallies by junior attacker Andrew Miller, sophomore midfielder Jeff Wiedenfeld, senior midfielder Max Thurston, senior attacker Cooper Cioffi and senior midfielder Nathan Sickles to go up 8-3 with 14:28 remaining in the second quarter. The Warriors got back in the game with a goal by sophomore midfielder Quinn O'Connor, before the Owls went on another scoring streak. Lancaster and Tedone connected on another goal by the latter at the 13:20 mark in the quarter. Junior midfielder Colby Quiet and Miller then each scored a goal of their own with their team on the man-advantage to put the Owls up 11-4. An Eastern Connecticut State goal from senior midfielder Garrett Lapham was followed by freshman attacker Jack Ansart's first collegiate goal with three seconds remaining in the half. Keene State took a 12-5 lead into the break.

Cioffi began the scoring in the third quarter for the Owls, with an assist by Sickles. Keene State would then get goals from Souza, Cioffi and Maccarini after conceding a goal of their own to extend its lead to 16-6. The Warriors got on a scoring run with three straight goals between the third and fourth quarters, two of which came from sophomore attacker Brycen Kennedy. Channing would add another goal for the Warriors while his team was up a man, but not before the Owls got goals from Miller and Sickles while they were on the man-advantage. Keene State would finish the game strong as freshman attacker Sean McCusker, in his collegiate debut, scored his first-career goal with 3:02 remaining in the game. The Owls would ultimately cruise to their third win in the last four games.
