
KEENE, N.H.--The Keene State track and field team took park in three different meets across four days, but two school records were broken at the Penmen Relays on Saturday.
Wednesday/Thursday
Molly Lu McKellar competed in the heptathlon at the UMass Multi Meet. She ran the 100 hurdles in 16.54, threw the shot put 11.01 meters, ran the 200 meters in 29.13, had a mark of 4.31 in the long jump, threw the javelin 27.07 meters, and ran the 800 meters in 2:50.24.
Friday
At the Silfen Invitational, Jake Pearl ran the steeplechase in 9:35.33. On the women's side,
Maggie St. John ran the 5,000 meters in 18:36.77, while
Grace Furlong ran the same event in 18:42.45.
Saturday
Dawson Hamele was fifth in the 400 meters in 52.94. Pearl was third in the 800 meters at 1:57.72.
Samuel Hennedy was third in the 400 hurdles in 59.36.
Elliot DeGray,
Max Smith,
Alex LeBlanc, and
Aidan Law made up the 4x100 relay team that finished second in 43.84.
Tristan Berg was second in the high jump at 1.83 meters, and Hamele was fourth in the same event at 1.75 meters.
Aidan Law was third in the long jump at 6.50 meters.
Kyle Maruca was fifth in the shot put at 12.58 meters, and second in the discus at 41.81 meters.
Nick Pope was fifth in the hammer throw at 39.80 meters.
Eric Carlo was fourth in the javelin in 45.71 meters.
In women's action,
Aurora Couto was fifth in the 800 meters in 2:33.96.
Shannon Parks was second in the shot put at 12.75 meters, and won the hammer throw at 48.40 meters, breaking her own marks in each event. She had set the hammer mark earlier this year, and the shot put mark in May of 2022.
Savannah Soleau was fourth in the javelin at 35.01 meters.
The Owls are at the Tufts University Sunshine Classic next weekend before the Little East Conference championships on April 29 in North Dartmouth, Mass.
