NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—Kyle Maruca and Grace Furlong both were crowned Little East Conference champions and Shannon Parks set another school record as the Keene State track and field teams competed at the 2023 LEC Championships at UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.
Men's Highlights

Kyle Maruca won the discus at 44.70 meters and was second in the shot put in 13.69 meters, earning All-Conference honors in both disciplines. Maruca is the fifth KSC athlete to win the LEC title in the discus, along with Ben Keach (2013-15), Angus Fisher (2012), Bryan Kolacz (2008-11), and Jeff Roberts (1999-2000).

Jacob Pearl earned All-Conference honors in the steeplechase, finishing second in 9:38.50. Pearl was also fourth in the 800 meters in 2:01.65.

Samuel Hennedy was third in the 400 meter hurdles in 57.10.

Dawson Hamele was sixth in the 400 meter dash in 52.83, and finished in a four way tie for second in the high jump at 1.80 meters to earn All-Conference.

Aidan Law was sixth in the 200 meter dash in 22.62.
- The 4x100 meter relay team of

Elliot DeGray, Alex Leblanc, and
Max Smith was fourth in 44.66.
- The 4x800 meter relay team of
Michael Gigliotti,
Marty Nelligan,
Tyler Robinson, and
Ben Harley was sixth in 9:27.35.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of Pearl, Hennedy, DeGray, and Hamele was fifth in 3:31.18.

Matthew St. John was fifth in the discus at 39.18 meters.

Eden Damis was fifth in the triple jump at 13.04 meters.
- Keene State was fifth out of eight teams with 54 points.
Women's Highlights

Grace Furlong won the 10,000 meters in 40:11.19 to earn All-Conference honors in the event. Furlong is just the fourth person in school history to win the 10,000 meters at the LEC Championships, joining Lauren Perkowski (2019), Erin Crawford (2011), and Sophie Holly (2006).

Sara Christian was fifth in the 10,000 meters in 45:48.89.

Aurora Couto was second in the steeplechase in 12:58.53 to earn All-Conference honors.

Maggie St. John was third in the 1,500 meters in 5:05.57 and second in the 5,000 meters in 18:45.44 to earn All-Conference honors.

- The 4x800 meter relay team of

Juliana Yialiades was sixth in 4:59.58.

Shannon Parks was third in the shot put in 12.18 meters, and second in the hammer at 48.62 meters to earn All-Conference and breaking her own mark in the event for the third time his season.

Savannah Soleau was fourth in the shot put in 11.84 meters.

Molly Lu McKellar was fifth in the long jump at 4.75 meters.
- Keene State was fourth overall with 63 points.
