HENNIKER, N.H. – Senior midfielders Haile Ratajack and Mindy St. Marie scored four goals apiece as the Keene State College women's lacrosse team defeated New England College 13-3 Thursday at Don Melander Field. The victory marks the first time all season that the Owls have won two games in a row.

  • New England College: 6-5, 0-0 NECC

How it Happened
St. Marie began the scoring at the 12:39 mark in the first quarter. After freshman midfielder Tess Brown scooped up a loose ball in the offensive zone and gave it to Marie, the St. Albans, Vt., native drove to the net and fired in her first goal of the game. Ratajack scored her first goal of the day just over six minutes later at 6:21. Keene State would go on to get goals from sophomore midfielder Amethyst Phelps, Ratajack and junior attacker Hannah Dworkin to take a 5-0 lead into the second quarter.

The Owls kept scoring in the second, starting with a goal from St. Marie with her team up a player at 6:56. The Pilgrims eventually got their first goal at 4:08, before St. Marie scored another goal up a player with 53 seconds remaining in the half. Keene State went into the locker room up 7-1, having given up only 10 shots in the first half.

Ratajack scored the only goal from either team in the third period. At 9:33, senior attacker Jackie DeAngelis gave the ball to Ratajack, who went around a screen set by St. Marie and scored her third goal of the game. The fourth quarter featured the most goals scored in the game, as both teams combined to get seven in the frame. Five came from the Owls, with goals scored by St. Marie, Brown, Dworkin, Ratajack and sophomore attacker Lola Smith. Freshman Kara Moriarty only needed to make three saves to pick up her second win in goal this season.
