TOP 10 TIMES (THROUGH 2023-2024)

The Owls were joined at the meet by Norwich University, the University of New England, Gordon College, and Plymouth State University.

Turgeon, who had the third best time in school history in the 100 IM last year, opened the season with four top three finishes including a win in the 50-yard butterfly in 25.24, edging Norwich University's Adrian Riendeau by .16 seconds.  He was also third in the 50 freestyle in 23.09, .58 seconds from the winner, third in the 100 IM in 58.00, third in the 50 breaststroke in 29.47, and fifth in the 50 backstroke in 27.66.  His combined times in the five events were third-best on the men's side behind only Riendeau and Kristian Adlianitski of Norwich.  In the 50 butterfly, Zach Perry finished seventh in 25.76.

Strzegowski won the women's one-meter diving with a score of 226.80, scoring better than Norwich's Reilly Laitala (218.25).  Maddie Keyes finished third with a 209.20 in her first-ever collegiate dive.

Keene State sophomore Tallulah Going had a strong start to her Owl career after transferring from Central Connecticut State University, finishing third in the 50 freestyle (26.92), just .31 seconds from the winner, and fifth in the 50 backstroke in 32.06.  She also helped the 200 medley relay team that also consisted of London Armitage, Maddy Fitzgerald, and Olivia Boulris to a third-place finish in that event, swimming the anchor leg in 26.25.  Going was also sixth in the 100 IM in 1:10.00, .03 seconds behind Boulris in fifth.  Adessa Noyes finishes sixth in the 50 butterfly in 30.02.

KSC's men's 200 medley relay team of Zach Finman, Zack Menz, Zach Perry, and Turgeon raced to a second-place finish in 1:46.78, while both 200 freestyle relay teams were third.  The women's side (Going, Rory Lee, Hannah Reddick, and Kyleigh Dyer) finished in 1:52.52 in a closely-contested race, while Finman, Evan Keefe, Perry, and Turgeon clocked in at 1:36.50.

"This was a great way to start our season," said Keene State head coach Chris Woolridge.  "Our athletes had a lot of racing opportunities today and this will give us a good baseline as we had into our dual meet season.  Our divers performed really well today, they are well ahead of where they were at this point last season and I'm looking forward to seeing their development this semester."

Norwich won six of the seven events individually on the men's side besides Turgeon's victory and one on the women's side.  UNE took six of the eight events on the women's side, with Adria Horton taking the 50 butterfly and the 50 backstroke while also swimming the final leg of the 200 free relay.  Adlianitski swam the anchor leg of both relays (200 medley, 200 free) for the Cadet men while also winning the 50 free and 100 IM individually.

Keene State is back home next weekend (Saturday, October 19) for a meet against St. Michael's College at 1:00 p.m.
