How It Happened
Both teams tried to strike first with a pair of shots in the opening 24 minutes of play, as Jenna Soden of RIC was the only one whose shot was on target, but Owls' goalkeeper, Riley Andriski made her first save of the game to keep the contest scoreless early on. Later in the half, following a free kick from RIC near midfield, Marissa Ruzzano was denied a goal by Andriski a few feet in front of the goal, and with Andriski off the line, Amalfitano made a defensive save on Grace Aukerman's ensuing shot attempt to keep a goal off the board. After KSC's next three shot attempts were off target, RIC had two more shots on goal in the final four minutes, but once again, Andriski made two more saves to keep the contest scoreless heading into halftime.

Just as she ended the first half, Andriski opened the second half with two more saves in goal for the Owls, denying Karol Matamoros and Cami Weekly of scoring within the opening nine minutes of play in the second half. In the 73rd and 74th minute, KSC had their best scoring opportunity of the day, as Elizabeth Tschudin recorded a pair of shots on goal. The first of which was outside RIC's box, which their goalkeeper, Chloe Angelone, easily saved, and the second coming after weaving through RIC defenders, Tschudin ripped a shot that Angelone was able to save and corral the rebound to keep the Owls off the board. The rest of the contest, RIC's two shots missed the target, while the same happened for the Owls, as KSC's last offensive push fell short in the final four minutes and the teams drew, 0-0.

Inside the Box
  • With the draw, the Owls still lead the all-time series between the two teams, 24-2-3, after going 4-0-2 over the past six games and outscoring RIC, 17-5.
  • KSC narrowly outshot RIC, 12-11, although RIC had seven shots on goal, to two from KSC and the Anchorwomen tallied eight corners, while the Owls had just three.
  • Both of KSC's shots on goal came from Tschudin, while Ruzzano led RIC with two shots on goal.
