PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Two members of the Keene State College women's volleyball team earned All-Little East Conference honors for the 2024 season, as
Molly Wetherbee and
Alexis Small were named to the Second Team All-LEC, and
Stephanie Olah was named to the Sportsmanship Team.
Wetherbee, a senior middle blocker from Marblehead, Massachusetts, earned a Second Team All-LEC selection for the 2024 season for the second year in a row. Wetherbee finished the year with the second most kills on the Owls with 205 (her career-high), for 1.93 kills per set. Her .267 hitting % was a team-high (and a top 15 single season mark in program history) and the fourth-best across the LEC on the season. In the Owls' game against Westfield State (10/9/24), Wetherbee recorded an LEC-high of .545 attacking % over a four-set match with seven kills and one error on 11 attempts. Her season-high of 19 kills in the Owls' match against Eastern Connecticut State (10/5/24) was the second most in a contest on the season in the LEC across any match, and the most in a four set match in the LEC on the year. Wetherbee also recorded 55 blocks, which were the second most for KSC on the season.
Small, a sophomore setter from Londonderry, New Hampshire, was selected to the Second Team All-LEC for her performance over the 2024 season. Small recorded 876 assists (8.11 assists/set) across the season, which was the most assists in the LEC (by 76) and in the top 15 for most assists in a season in KSC program history. Her 55 aces were a team-high and the third most in the LEC. Small recorded 265 digs, the second most for the Owls, for a 2.45 digs/set average, to go with her 28 blocks across the season. Small's 50 assists in the Owls' win over New England College (11/2/24) were the third most in a match in the conference and the most in a four-set match in the LEC on the year.
Olah, a senior right side hitter from Trumbull, Connecticut, was named to the LEC Sportsmanship team for her senior year with the Owls. The sportsmanship team is chosen by the individual coach from each team. "Steph has done a lot for this volleyball team. She truly is one of those selfless people who puts others first" said head coach
Jacob Girard. " The leadership that she's provided this year will help our team dynamic for many years to come."
