How it Happened
In the opener, Miller (2-4) allowed just three base runners the entire game and faced one batter over the maximum for her first carer shutout.  The Corsairs got a bunt single from Kinu Takasugi to lead off the game, before Miller retired the next 10 batters she faced, and got a 6-4-3 double-play to erase a one-out walk to Emma Talley to end the fourth inning.
Keene State got all the offense it would need in the fourth inning, when Elyse Picard launched a triple to deep right-center, and scored on Liv Whittier's sacrifice fly to center field.
UMass Dartmouth threatened once final time in the top of the fifth, putting the tying run on third base with two outs, before Miller induced Olivia Silva to ground out to Picard at shortstop to end the inning.
Miller then set the Corsairs down in order in the sixth and seventh innings to preserve the win.
In the nightcap, the Owls rallied to tie the game before ceding the lead in the fifth inning. The Corsairs scored twice in the second inning on a single by Larissa Piessens, but Keene State took advantage of two UMD errors and RBI singles by Grace Wallace and Lilah Demmy tied the game in the fourth inning.  UMass took the lead for good in the fifth with two runs, scoring first on a wild pitch and then on Hailey Soares sacrifice fly.
Keene State got back within in a run as Demmy knocked in Kalle Halvorsen with a fielder's choice, but the Owls left the go-ahead run on the bases when Abbie Monkevicz popped up to second base to end the inning. Â
