PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three Keene State College student-athletes honored by the Little East Conference for their achievements accomplished for the week of November 10-16.
Men's Swimming and Diving
Freshman diver
Keegan Johnson (Durham, N.H.) was named the LEC Rookie Diver of the Week for the second week of the 2025-2026 season from his dives at the Owls' double-dual meet against Husson University and Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday night. In the 1M diving event, Johnson placed third with a total score of 133.35 over his six dives.
Johnson and the Owls return to the pool in Spaulding on Saturday, November 22, at 1:00 PM as the Owls host Bentley University for their next contest.
Women's Basketball
Freshman forward/guard
Sydney Cassidy (Somers, Conn.) was named the LEC Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week from her performances in her second week as an Owl. Cassidy averaged 10 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game over the two games on the week for KSC. In Cassidy's first home game for KSC, she tallied 17 points from 5-for-9 (55.6%) from the field, 2-for-4 (50%) from three, and a perfect 5-for-5 from the line in the Owls' 97-59 win over New England College.
Cassidy and the Owls return to action on Tuesday, November 18, at 5:00 PM as KSC hits the road to take on Dean College for their second of four consecutive games on the road.
Women's Ice Hockey
Sophomore goaltender
Ai Chung (Kaohsiung City, Taiwan) was named the LEC Goaltender of the Week for the second consecutive week from her performance in the Owls' win on Saturday over the University of Massachusetts-Boston. KSC picked up their second LEC win on the season against previously unbeaten UMB as she made 39 saves in goal in the 2-1 victory. Chung finished the game with a 1.00 GAA and .975 SV% as her season totals moved to 1.8 GAA and .950 SV%. Chung protected the crease well early in the contest to hold off the Beacons' attack by making 15 saves in the first period and 16 saves across the second period in the contest, including making 10 saves across three separate power play opportunities for UMB to help KSC kill the penalties off.
Chung and the Owls return to the ice on Saturday, November 22, at 3:00 PM at Vermont State University Castleton for their next contest.
