KEENE, N.H. – The Keene State College men's lacrosse team improved to .500 on the season as 11 different scorers propelled the Owls past Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Tuesday afternoon for a 13-5 win.

How it Happened
KSC started the contest off hot as they outscored the Monks 5-0 in the opening 15 minutes of play.
Adam Scala and
Rex Maccarini opened the scoring as they each tallied a goal for KSC in the opening 4:20 of play. After SJC's goalkeeper made his second save of the game, KSC tacked on their third goal as
Nicholas McNulty scored his eighth goal of the season with 5:52 left in the first. Wescott made three more saves in net in the quarter for the Monks, but following
Justin Miller causing a turnover for KSC,
Jake Dubiel scored the Owls' fourth goal of the day with 1:13 left in the first. After Gabe Periera won the ensuing faceoff for the Owls,
Connor Woods assisted
Ben Tukey for a goal with five seconds remaining in the quarter to give KSC a 5-0 lead heading into the second quarter.
In the second quarter only two goals were scored, with belonging to the Owls.
Chris Adriaansen scored his first goal of the season for the Owls to increase the lead to six with 11:06 remaining in the opening half of play. Wescott saved the next four shots from KSC, while the Owls' goalkeeper
Dylan Florian made his first save in goal, but KSC added another goal four minutes after Adriaansen's with
Jaheim Lancaster assisting
Aidan Donohue on his second goal in as many games for the defender. The rest of the half, Wescott made three more saves, to two from Florian, as KSC took a 7-0 lead into the halftime.
Periera won the opening faceoff of the second half, leading to Maccarini assisting Woods for a goal just seven seconds into the second half for the Owls. Over the next seven minutes, SJC tried to start to mount a comeback with Wescott making three saves in goal and the Monks scoring three goals on the attack, with one being a man-up goal. Lancaster responded for the Owls by killing the Monk's momentum with a goal shortly after to stop for his first of the season for KSC. The rest of the quarter, KSC had all four of their shots on goal saved as they took a 9-3 lead into the final 15 minutes of play.
Both goalkeepers opened the final quarter with a save in goal, but KSC scored first with Maccarini assisting
Giacomo Tedone with 9:09 remaining in the game after
Luke Festa caused a turnover for the Owls. Both goalkeepers once again saved the next shot that they each faced, but this time, SJC tallied a goal 2:02 later, with Calvin Heline scoring a man-up goal for the Monks. The Owls scored three more goals the rest of the contest with
Tim Souza becoming the 11th goal scorer for the Owls and Scala and Adriaansen each scoring their second goals of the game for KSC. SJC added one more goal in the closing minute of the contest as the Owls easily picked up the 13-5 win over the Monks on the day.

- With the win, KSC improves to 1-0 in the first ever meeting between the two programs.
- KSC improves to 4-4 on the year as the Owls have won four of their last five games.
- 5 Owls recorded a multi-point game with Maccarini leading the way with three points from a goal and two assists, while Lancaster and Woods tallied a goal and an assist each, and Adriaansen and Scala each scored a pair of goals.
- The Owls' defense caused 16 turnovers on the day with Miller leading the way with 4 caused turnovers.
- Florian made five saves on nine shots faced in goal in his 54:02 in net for KSC, while Cameron Smith recorded a save in net, while allowing a goal on his 5:58 in net for the Owls. Wescott made 22 saves over his 60 minutes in net for the Monks.
- The Owls had by far their best day on the season on faceoffs as they went 17-for-22 (77.3%) with Periera leading the way going 14-for-18 (77.8%).
