Trio of Owls Earn Weekly LEC Awards

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three Keene State College student-athletes were honored by the Little East Conference for their achievements accomplished for the week of 9/15-9/22.
 
 
Field Hockey
 
Senior forward Grace Bazin (Westminster, Vt.) was named the LEC Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth week in a row to open the 2025 season as continues to be a problem to opposing defenses on the year. Bazin continued her streak of scoring a goal in every game to open the season on the week as she scored the Owls' lone goal against Western New England University on Wednesday. Against LEC opponent UMass-Dartmouth, Bazin accounted for three of the four goals from KSC in their 4-2 win as she scored two more goals (including what was the eventual game-winner) and recorded an assist to bring her season total to 17 goals and four assists for 36 points across eight games (averaging 4.5 points per game).
 
Bazin and the Owls return to action on Tuesday, September 25, at 6:00 PM at Smith College.
 
Men's Golf
 
Freshman Taylor Miller, (Stoddard, N.H.) was named the Rookie Golfer of the Week from his performance at the Rhode Island College Fall Invitational last Tuesday at the Valley Country Club. In his second collegiate appearance for the Owls, Miller shot one-over 73 as he placed second on the day. Over the 18 holes, Miller shot par or better on 16 of the holes. KSC finished third at the match as the top three teams were only separated by nine strokes as the Owls finished with a 307.
 
Miller and the Owls return to action on Tuesday, September 25, at 10:00 AM at the Brett Williamson Invitational at Westfield State University.
 
Women's Golf
 
Junior Madison Mousley, (East Thetford, Vt.) was named the Golfer of the Week for the LEC from her performance in the Owls' second competition on the year coming at the University of Southern Maine Invitational. Mousley shot a collegiate career-best 83 as the Owls tied for second in the meet. She recorded 10 pars on the day, including six on the front nine, where she shot 39 (+3), which was the third-best score through the front nine at the event. Mousley led the Owls to a 364, which was tied for second with Husson University on the day.
 
Mousley and the Owls return to action at home at the Keene State Invitational on Sunday, September 28, at 9:30 AM.
