Ai Chung Named to Inaugural First Team All-LEC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference has recently announced their All-Conference teams for the 2025-2026 women's ice hockey inaugural LEC season and Ai Chung of the Keene State College women's ice hockey team earned an inaugural selection to the All-LEC teams.

Ai Chung, a sophomore goaltender from Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, was selected to the All-LEC First Team in the conference's inaugural season from her dominant performance in net for the Owls over the year. Earning four LEC Goaltender of the Week awards, Chung was a major part of keeping the Owls in a lot of the games over the year as she made 817 saves, the second most in all of NCAA Division III women's ice hockey this season and 226 more saves than the second place save leader in the LEC. Over her LEC-high 22 games played on the year, Chung made 37.14 saves per game, the second most in the conference, to go with her .932 SV%, the fourth best in the LEC. Of the single game highs among LEC goaltenders with the most saves in a game this season, Chung recorded six of the top 10 games, including the most in a single game by an LEC goalie as she made 68 saves against the eventual LEC champion Norwich University (11/8/25), along with 56 saves (third most in a game by an LEC goalie on the season) against Williams College (11/30/25), who ranked No. 9 in the USCHO polls prior to the NCAA Tournament. Late in the season, Chung also became the first goalie in program history to reach the 1,000 career save mark as she made 47 saves in the Owls' regular season finale win over the University of Southern Maine (2/21/26).

"I first saw Ai playing for the San Jose Lady Sharks in Anaheim in December of 2023, and it didn't take long to recognize she had the potential to be a difference-maker for our young program" said Rob Morgan, the women's ice hockey head coach. "Ai has a tremendous competitive spirit and is a real student of the position. She prepares, studies the game, and embraces the responsibility of being our starter. What she's accomplished this season is a reflection of her work ethic and her commitment to getting better every day."

Owls' goaltender coach Ainsley King spoke of the strides that Chung has taken this year and with excitement for her future as an Owl, "I'm incredibly proud of Ai for her accomplishments this season. It has been great to see her grow her confidence on and off the ice, and I am excited for her next 2 seasons as an Owl."
