NORTH SUTTON, N.H. – Sophomore Taylor Miller and senior Aidan Davis combined for seven birdies as the Keene State College men's golf team began their 2026-2027 campaign with a third-place team finish, scoring a 315, at the New England College Invitational Saturday at the Country Club of New Hampshire.

Miller, a Keene High School product, finished with a two-over 74 and was tied for the second-best individual score on the day, two strokes behind co-champions Aiden Boule and Emil Elias of New England College, each who shot an even par 72.  Miller shot a one-over on both the front and back nine, notching birdies on No. 5, No. 8, No. 12, and No. 13, with the four equaling an individual match-high.  Davis (Hinsdale, N.H.) picked up three birdies of his own, all on the final nine holes as he rebounded from a 41 on the front nine to be even on the back, carding birdies on No. 17 and the 525-yard par five 18th.

Senior Ben Fecteau added 10 pars in his round of 81, while freshman Cole Madden shot an 83 in his debut, which included a birdie apiece on the first and 12th holes.

Including Sean Bonneau, whose 85 and 11 pars were not factored into KSC's team score, the Owls totaled nine birdies and 47 pars on the day to beat their previous best team total at the event from last year by one stroke.

"It was a great start," said Keene State head coach Jeff Timmer.  "Although we finished third, it might have been our best team score at that course.  Taylor and Aidan played great to lead the team."

Miller is coming off an strong rookie season a year ago while Davis was an All-Conference performer as KSC finished third at the conference championship, which they will look to build upon this year.

Salem State University won the team title today, finishing with a 302.  Their top two scorers shot a 74 and their second pair each a 77, and they combined for 11 birdies as a team.  New England College shot a 309 paced by Boule's 72 to place as the team runner-up.  KSC finished ahead of fourth-place Vermont State University Castleton by 11 strokes.

Co-medalist Elias, also of NEC, had two birdies and an eagle on No. 18 to tie Boule, but he played on the Pilgrims' "B" squad.

The Owls travel to the Tony Mariano Invitational in Barre, Vt. hosted by Norwich University on Wednesday, with tee times beginning at 10:00 a.m., before traveling to Eastern Connecticut State University next Sunday and Monday.
