KEENE, N.H. – After allowing a pair of early goals to Babson College on Saturday afternoon in the first game of the Keene State Kickoff Classic, the Keene State College men's soccer team was unable to complete the comeback as the Owls were able to pull within a goal but not enough tie the game up at two as KSC fell to Babson, 2-1.

How it Happened
The Owls looked to strike first with a pair of shots on goal in the opening four minutes of action, but Will Devall saved both the shots in goal for the Beavers to keep KSC off the board early. On the other end of the field shortly after, Babson capitalized on their first opportunity as McKenzy Pierre found the back of the net for the lead 10:01 into action. Babson struck again shortly after as Connor Hanrahan added another goal for the Beavers 7:48 later to increase the lead to 2-0.
Tommaso Lorrai bounced back in goal for the Owls in his first collegiate start with a save on the next shot that he faced in goal in the 32nd minute. The rest of the opening half the Owls gained momentum as they recorded four shots the rest of the way with
Tommaso Brivio rifling a shot off the post for the first of the four, while
William Edmunds capped off the four shots with his first collegiate goal to pull KSC within one heading into the half.
Over the first 12 minutes of the second half Babson was on the attack with three shots, but they were unable to capitalize as Lorrai made another save, another shot went wide, and Hanrahan's shot hit the post as KSC stayed within a goal early in the second half. Over the next 10 minutes Babson continued to apply the pressure with three corner kicks, while the Beavers looked to add an insurance goal from Will Boecher, but
Jude Keener logged a defensive save for the Owls to limit Babson's lead. The rest of the second half Babson held the Owls without a shot on goal, while Lorrai made another save in net for KSC and the Beavers held on for their 2-1 victory over the Owls.
