KEENE, N.H. – Hosting the first
Denise Lyons '90 Kickoff Classic on Saturday afternoon, the Keene State College women's soccer team hosted the Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards and after 90 minutes of back-and-forth action, neither team found the back of the net and the teams played to a 0-0 draw.

How it Happened
KSC was on the attack early with a pair of shots on goal over the opening eight minutes, but Kyleigh Murphy saved a shot from each
Elizabeth Tschudin and
Kaylee Cormier to keep the game scoreless early. Making her first collegiate start in net for the Owls after playing 45 minutes in the second half of KSC's previous contest, Michaela DiCiccio faced a pair of shots in net shortly after and saved them both over the next 15 minutes. Both teams traded another scoring opportunity over the next few minutes, but Murphy denied
Hailey Goldman from scoring her first collegiate goal for the Owls and Brooke Finlay's shot for the Leopards hit the post and bounced to DiCiccio, who secured the ball to prevent another shot opportunity for WIT. Late in the opening half DiCiccio made a pair of saves within a minute, and KSC ran out of time in the final minute on their late push with a pair of corner kicks as the teams headed into the half at 0-0.
Just as the Owls' attack was moving early in the first half, KSC came out firing in the second half as they took six shots over the first 16 minutes of the second half. Murphy held strong for the Leopards over the span, saving the two shots on target before KSC was able to break through and find the back of the net on a header, only for the play to be blown dead and the goal called off from a foul called against the Owls. Just like the first half, following the Owls starting attack, WIT had a few chances of their own soon after, but after entering the game at halftime for the Owls,
Allison Gough made three saves over 10 minutes to keep the Leopards off the board. Gough continued to hold strong in net for KSC as she made another pair of saves shortly after as the game started to wind down to 10 minutes remaining in the contest. KSC was in control the remainder of the contest but of the five shots the Owls were able to fire off the rest of the game, Murphy saved the one on goal and Tschudin's best shot of the day ripped off the crossbar, staying out of the back of the net as the game stayed scoreless and the teams drew 0-0.
Inside the Box
- KSC moves to 0-0-1 in the all-time series in the first matchup between the two programs.
- Gough recorded five saves in her second half of action for the Owls, while DiCiccio made four saves in her first half of action for KSC. Murphy recorded seven saves for the shutout for the Leopards.
- Tschudin and Cormier led the Owls with a pair of shots on goal apiece.
- KSC had the edge on corner kicks, 6-3.
