KEENE, N.H. – Despite outshooting John Jay College 12-8, the Keene State College men's soccer team was unable to capitalize on their shot attempts in their second game of the Keene State Kickoff Classic, while the Bloodhounds found the back of the net twice late in the game over a minute span to take down the Owls 2-0.

How it Happened
Both teams started off the contest slower, and it wasn't until the 15th minute where a team recorded a shot on goal as
Esteban Henao tried to put the Owls ahead early, but Davio Rossi-Levin saved the shot in net for the Bloodhounds to keep the contest scoreless. Rossi-Levin's save resulted in a corner kick for the Owls, but on the ensuing ball in play,
Federico Spagnuolo's shot for the Owls missed the target. 12 minutes later John Jay had their first shot of the day, coming from Sekou Sheriff, but just like Spagnuolo's shot for the Owls, it missed the mark. KSC had one more shot on frame the rest of the opening half that Rossi-Levin saved, as the two teams battled to a 0-0 tie heading into the half.
The Owls had a pair of scoring opportunities in the first four minutes of the second half, but after being called offside on the first attempt, Rossi-Levin saved
Dorian Wilczynski's shot on target to keep the Owls off the board in the 49th minute. Neither team capitalized on either of their two shots apiece over the next 14 minutes, while the Owls tacked on two more shots shortly after, but they also missed the frame.
Giuseppe Denucce-Simms saved the first shot he saw in net for the Owls in the 76th minute after entering the contest at the start of the second half and shortly after on the other end of the field the Owls had their best scoring opportunity of the day, but
Adrian Bueno's shot hit off the post and the game remained scoreless with 11 minutes remaining. The remainder of the contest the Bloodhounds were in control as they finally broke through on just their second shot on goal of the day as Sheriff assisted Greg Semsarian to give John Jay the 1-0. Lead with 8:55 remaining. It didn't take long for the Bloodhounds to strike again as Semsarian had another shot on goal less than a minute later that Denuccee-Simms saved, but was unable to recover the rebound, leading to Josh Clemas putting the rebound home to give John Jay the 2-0 lead with under eight minutes remaining. The rest of the way the Owls tried to mount a comeback, but it was too late and KSC was unable to record a shot on target as their three shots went wide and John Jay held on for the 2-0 win over KSC.
