Matt Adams

One of the most respected Owl players during his four-yearcareer, Matt Adams returns to his alma mater as an associate coachwith the Keene State men’s basketball team this season.

Adams, who served as a student assistant and assistant coach forthe Owls following his playing career, returns to Keene State aftercoaching stints at Rutgers-Newark in New Jersey and Franklin PierceUniversity.“It’s exciting to get a chance to work withthese guys again” said Adams, who will be reunited withseveral players he recruited to the program during his previoustenure.  “I think I’ve grown as a coach in myprevious positions and now I’m looking forward to bringingquality student athlete into the Keene Stateprogram.” 

Adams, who served as a senior captain, will not only head upKeene State's recruiting efforts but also utilize his understandingof the game and leadership qualities as a practice and bench coachwith the team.

Success goes hand-and-hand for Adams was a member of the 2003-04Keene State team that advanced to the “Elite-Eight” ofthe NCAA tournament and the was captain of the 2006-07 squad thatreach the “Sweet-16” of the tournament. During hiscoaching stint at Rutgers-Newark in 2009-10, the Scarlet Raidersearned an NCAA berth.

A prolific outside shooter and three-point specialist during hisKSC career, Adams joined the Owls after playing at Keene HighSchool where he was a team captain and offensive MVP as asenior.
