Nicholas Magyar enters his third season as an assistant coach on the Keene State men's basketball staff in 2019-20. In his first season with the Owls, he assisted the coaching staff in posting an 11-3 record which earned them the No. 2 seed and an appearance in the LEC tournament championship game. In his role, Magyar assisted in all areas of coaching including recruiting and scouting as well as arranging hotels, buses, meals and flights for tournaments.
Magyar arrived at KSC after spending the 2016-17 campaign as the men’s JV basketball coach at Conant High School where he led the Orioles to a 10-8 season resulting in a final four appearance.
Previous to coming to Keene State, Magyar served in various facets of coaching and training with Integrity Hoops. His duties included player development, strength training, conditioning, team development, and game organization. He is IYCA certified in speed, agility, strength and conditioning.
Magyar is a 2015 graduate of KSC with bachelor’s degrees in both Elementary Education and Economics as well as a minor in Spanish. He currently is a 4th grade teacher at Kurn Hattin School and Homes in Westminster, VT.
