Mark Theriault enters his 23rd year as head coach of the Keene State men's lacrosse team in 2022-23. Coming off six LEC tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearances in the last eight seasons, Theriault looks to maintain that standard this season.
Playing a highly-competitive schedule which includes some of the top teams in the region, Theriault, a nine-time LEC Coach of the Year, has led the Owls to a 243-105 (.698) overall record and a highly impressive 115-19 (.858) mark in conference play since ushering KSC into the league in 2000. Since 2013, Theriault's squad has gone through the LEC schedule undefeated eight of the last nine seasons. From 2013-19, the Owls won seven straight LEC regular season championships and six straight tournament titles.
Under Theriault, the men's lacrosse program has claimed 10 Little East tournament titles, appeared in 16 conference championship games, and produced numerous All-Conference players including LEC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year as well as Rookie of the Year honorees. The Owls' longtime coach has also produced nine honorable mention All-Americans.
Prior to his tenure at Keene State, Coach Theriault was the head coach at Western New England College, where he went 14-3 and won the Pilgrim League championship in 1996.
Throughout his coaching career, Theriault has been active in the sport. He was the chair of the men's lacrosse conference, was a voting member of the national Division III poll, and served on the Regional Advisory Committee for the NCAA. Currently, Theriault sits on the All-America selection committee.
Theriault is a 1996 graduate of Springfield College, where he was a two-time All-American. During his junior year, when the Pride won a national championship, he was the Most Valuable Player of the championship game. At the end of his senior year, Theriault was voted Most Outstanding Midfielder in the nation. Theriault also participated in the North/South Senior All-Star game at Johns Hopkins University. He played lacrosse professionally for the Boston Blazers and in 1996 was voted the Unsung Hero of the team.
Coach Theriault resides in Gill, Mass., with his wife Emma, twin boys Jack and Connor, daughter Addison, and two Siberian huskies. He is the owner/director of the Elite 180 Lacrosse Recruiting.
