BIDDEFORD, ME 3/27/02 - The Keene State College men's lacrosse
team blanked the University of New England over the final three
periods on the way to its first win of the season, 9-1 in a
non-conference game on Wednesday in Biddeford, ME.
Trailing 1-0, the Owls responded with three goals to take a 3-1
lead after the first quarter. They would add three goals in both
the third and fourth quarters. Sophomore Joe Branciforte (Cromwell,
CT) netted three goals to lead Keene State, which evened its record
at 1-1. Junior D.J. Nordmark (South Windsor, CT) and first year
midfielder Meade McKay (Stratham, N.H.) netted two goals each.
Goalies Eric Delisle (Amherst, NH) and Ryan Connary (Portland,
ME) combined to make eight saves for Keene State, while UNE
sophomore Paul Tabor (Bristol, R.I.) stopped 21 shots. It was UNE's
first game of the season. Keene State will be at Salem State for a
Little East game on Saturday (1 p.m.).
