SALEM, MA. 3/30/02 - The Keene State College men's lacrosse team
received six goals and four assists from sophomore attackman Joe
Branciforte (Cromwell, CT) en route to an 18-7 Little East
Conference victory over Salem State Saturday at Alumni Field. The
four assists by Branciforte tied a KSC record set by Bob Bonnes,
Tim Trevitchick, and Ned Cremin.
Keene State improves to 2-1 while Salem State drops to 0-3. The
Owls jumped out to a 5-1 first quarter lead and never looked back.
Branciforte scored three times in each half. Freshman Eric Momnie
(So. Windsor, CT.) contributed four goals and an assist while D.J.
Clattenburg (Concord, NH) added two goals and three assists.
Salem State, which trailed 9-6 at the half, got three goals from
Eric Stanton.
Eric Delisle (Amherst, NH) finished with 16 saves for the Owls.
Alex Ehegartner (3 saves) and Matt Jewers (10 saves) shared the
goaltending chores for the Vikings.
Keen State will be at Green Mountain College on Thursday (4
p.m.).
