Owls To Face Babson College In ECAC Lacrosse

KEENE, N.H. 5/9/02 - The Keene State College men's lacrosse team will travel to Wellesley, MA., on Friday to take on Babson College in a ECAC Division III Tournament game scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Seeded sixth in the tournament, the Owls (12-2) will be looking for their second straight upset win after knocking off third seed Gordon College 12-10 on Wednesday.

"The further you go in the tournament, the harder it gets," said KSC Coach Mark Theriault. "But Babson is a team that we should be able to play with."

NEWMAC Conference member Babson (10-5), the second seed, moved onto the semifinals after defeating UMA-Dartmouth 21-11. "Both teams rely on a few players to get most of their goals, so it comes down to who executes the best that day," Theriault added.

Like KSC, Babson also plays it home game on a turf field.

Top seed Springfield College plays fifth seed Wheaton College in the other semifinal match up.
