'GORHAM, ME – Senior midfielder Chad Tiger
(Port Murray, N.J.) netted five goals and added an assist to lead
the Keene State College Owls to a 17-4 triumph over the University
of Southern ME Huskies in Little East Conference action on Saturday
afternoon at the Paula D. Hodgdon Field.
Triumphant in four straight games the Owls improved to 8-2
overall and 3-0 in the LEC. Keene State returns to action on
Wednesday when it entertains league-leading Eastern Connecticut.
Southern ME, which slipped to 2-6 and 0-2, will host UMA Boston on
Tuesday.
Keene State jumped to a 3-0 lead through one quarter of play,
and went up 5-0 early in the second period, before junior Dan Soule
(South Portland, ME) put the Huskies on the board with 8:35
remaining in the half. The teams traded goals over the remainder of
the quarter and entered the break with Keene state holding a 7-3
advantage.
The Owls added four more in the third quarter, including a pair
from Tiger, and scored six in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Sean
Favreau (Sabattus, ME) scored the Huskies lone goal of the second
half with 9:10 remaining in the contest.
Keene State received three goals from sophomore Ben Bradley
(South Hadley, MA.), and two goals each from Eric Momnie (South
Windsor, CT), Meade McKay (Stratham, N.H.), Joe Calcagno (Mt.
Lakes, N.J.) and Travis Pedley (Bow, N.H.). Momnie also added three
assists, while Calcagno recorded a pair.
Southern ME's remaining goal was scored by freshman Paul Dubiel
(Billerica, MA.), while senior Tobey Farrington (Scarborough, ME)
contributed three assists.
Sophomore Eric Delisle (Amherst, N.H.), made 16 saves for the
Owls, while freshman Jeff Lamoureux (Walpole, MA.) and sophomore
Mark Morissette (Wales, ME) combined to make 27 saves for the
Huskies.
