'KEENE, N.H. 4/26/03 – Ben Bradley (South
Hadley, MA.) and Chad Tiger (Port Murray, N.J.) had three goals and
one assist each to lead the Keene State College men's lacrosse team
to a 12-8 Little East Conference victory over UMA-Boston at Clark
Athletic Center on Saturday.
It was fifth win in the last six games for KSC (9-3, 4-1 LEC)
while UMB (6-8, 3-3 LEC) its four game winning streak come to an
end.
Trailing 3-2 after the first quarter, the Owls took the lead for
good by outscoring the Beacons 5-2 in the second quarter.
Tiger netted the tying and go-ahead goals 36 second apart for KSC
early in the second quarter. Bradley followed with another goal
just six seconds later for a 5-3 KSC advantage.
UMB cut the lead to a goal (5-4) later in the quarter, but Keene
State answered with two more goals before the half when Bradley
scored and Joe Calcagno (Mt. Lake N.J.) netted his second goal of
the day to give KSC a 7-4 lead.
Keene State's defense clamped down in the third period, holding
UMB scoreless which Eric Momnie (South Windsor, CT) and Mike
LeSage(Exeter, N.H.) added to the Owls' lead with a goal each to
extend KSC's lead to 9-5.
Joe Branciforte (Cromwell, CT) collected a game-high four
assists for the Owls.
Eric Delisle (Amherst, N.H.) made seven saves for KSC while Nick
Eaton had a strong game in goal for UMB with 19 saves.
KSC wraps up its regular season with a game against rival
Plymouth State on Sunday.
