'PLYMOUTH, N.H.– Junior Joe Branciforte
(Cromwell, CT) tallied three goals and three assists Sunday
afternoon, leading Keene State College to a 15-5
victory over Plymouth State College in a Little East Conference
men's lacrosse game at Panther Field.
The Owls won their second straight contest and sixth of their
last seven,improving to 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the LEC. PSC
had its two-game winning streak stopped and fell to 5-8 overall and
2-3 in conference play.
Plymouth State scored the opening goal of the game, but the Owls
answered with five unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead at the end
of the first quarter. Keene
State turned it on in the second quarter, preventing the
Panthers from taking any shots on goal while extending the lead to
7-1. It was 11-3 by the end of three frames before the Owls
coasted the rest of the way.
In addition to Branciforte, Keene State got three goals from
sophomore Meade McKay (Stratham, N.H.) and two goals apiece from
Joe Calcagno (Mt. Lakes, N.J.),
Eric Momnie (South Windsor, CT), Chad Tiger (Port Murray, N.J.),
and Ben Bradley (South Hadley, MA.). Travis Pedley (Bow,
N.H.) also scored once for
the Owls.
Freshman Bobby Dabrieo (Woburn, MA.) led the Panthers with two
goals, while senior Jason Biedrzycki (Amherst, N.H.) had a goal and
three assists. Senior
Ken McGuire (Wayland, MA.) and sophomore John Gallagher
(Forestdale, MA.)also score for PSC.
KSC sophomore goalie Eric Delisle (Amherst, N.H.) made nine
saves to post the win, while PSC freshman Mike Rodrick (Plaistow,
N.H.) was solid in net with 18
saves.
Plymouth State plays a make-up game Monday (Apr.28) at UMA
Dartmouth (4:00p.m.). Seedings for the LEC Tournament, which
begins Tuesday, will be
determined after tomorrow's game.
