Phoenix, AZ 12/30/04 - A late arrival to Phoenix didn't prevent
the Keene State College men's basketball team from posting a 66-60
victory over Anderson University of Indiana in its opening game at
the Grand Canyon Classic played Thursday.
"Despite all our travel problems getting here it was great to
get a win in our first game," said KSC Coach Rob Colbert, whose
team had to wait until Wednesday to depart after Monday's storm.
"It was a good win against a talented and hot team. I was very
pleased with our effort."

rebounds and Ben Maynard (Nobleboro, Me.)finished with 10 points
and nine rebounds to lead the Owls.
Holding a slim 34-32 halftime lead, KSC wasn't able to pull away
from Anderson College until the closing minutes of the game. The
Owls extended their advantage to nine points (43-34) early in the
second half on a three-point basket by Maynard. The Ravens came
back to tie the game (55-all) on a basket by Dustin Simco with 5:28
to play.
KSC put the game the game a way with an 8-0 run that began with
consecutive hoops by Sullivan and Harley Davis (Newburyport, Mass.)
and concluded with a pair of free throws by David Sontag (Mont
Vernon, N.H.).
