'CLERMONT,FLA. 3/17/04 - The Keene State College men's lacrosse
team completed its two-game Spring Week trip to Florida with a 13-7
loss to Amherst College in Clermont, Fla., on Wednesday.
The Owls (1-2) dropped its previous game to 11th ranked Franklin
& Marshall (13-10) on Monday.
Freshman Greg Gonzalez (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) had three goals
for the Owls, who led 2-1 after the first quarter. But Amherst
responded with a seven-goal explosion in the second to take firm
control of the contest of the game.
Meade McKay (Stratham, N.H.) scored two goals while Travis
Pedley (Bow, N.H.) and Greg Richard (Nashua, N.H.) tallied one goal
each.
Joe Branciforte (Cromwell, Conn.) and Richard each had a pair of
assists in the game. Eric Momnie (South Windsor, Conn.) and
McKay also added assists.
Goalie Eric Delisle (Amherst, N.H.) finished the game with
20 saves.
The Owls return to action March 24 when they host Green Mountain
College (4 p.m.) at KSC Athletic Complex.
