'KEENE, N.H. 4/22/04 - The Keene State College men's
lacrosse team completed its regular season with a 18-3 Little East
Conference victory over UMass-Boston at Owl Athletic Complex on
Thursday afternoon.
Keene State (8-5, 4-2 LEC) will be the third seed in the
upcoming LEC tournament. They will host an opening round
against an opponent to be determined next Tuesday.
Still in contention for a spot in the tournament, UMass-Boston
falls to 5-7 (1-4 LEC).
Junior midfielder Greg Richard (Nashua, N.H.) scored all four of
his goals in the first quarter to stake KSC to a 7-1 lead.
Richard also added a couple of assists. Playing in his final
home regular-season game, senior attackman Joe Branciforte
(Cromwell, Conn.) finished with three goals. Meade MacKay
(Stratham, N.H.), Roy Jones (Exeter, N.H.), and Eric Momnie (South
Windsor, Conn.) added two goals each while Travis Pedley (Bow,
N.H.), Greg Gonzalez (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), D.J. Clattenburg
(Concord, N.H.), Andrew Denley (Wakefield, N.H.), and Sean Panora
(South Windsor, Conn.), had one goal each for KSC.
Jon Marino (Pembroke, Mass.), Christopher Hanafin (Burlington,
Mass.), and Andrew Rowley (Duxbury, Mass.) tallied goals for the
Beacons. Mike Forns (Falmouth, Mass.) also had two assists.
Eric Delisle (Amherst, N.H.) played the first three quarters for
KSC and made two saves. Ryan Connary (Buxton, Me.) had two saves in
the final quarter. Dan O'Neil (Barnstable, Mass.) made 22
saves for UMB.
