'KEENE, N.H. 4/3/04 - Greg Richard (Nashua, N.H.) scored a
career-high four goals and Eric Momnie (South Windsor, Conn.) added
three goals and an assist to lead the Keene State College men's
lacrosse team to a 14-5 Little East Conference victory over rival
Plymouth State University at Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday. It
was the first conference game of the season for both teams.
Keene State, which has won the last three meetings between the
two teams, improves to 5-3 (1-0 LEC) while Plymouth State Univ.
falls to 1-3 (0-1 LEC).
Richard scored a pair of goals in the first quarter to stake KSC
to a 4-1. The Owls tallied four more goals in the second
quarter to increase the margin to 8-2.
The Panthers rallied in the third quarter to cut the deficit to
9-5 on an unassisted goal by Pat O'Malley (South Windsor,
Conn.). KSC answered with five unanswered goals in the fourth
quarter to pull away once again.
Meade MacKay (Stratham, Conn.) had two goals and three assists
and Sean Panora (South Windsor, Conn.) finished the game with two
goals and two assists for Keene State. Travis Pedley (Bow,
N.H.), D.J. Clattenburg (Concord, N.H.), and Greg Gonzalez
(Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) also tallied goals for KSC.
Jon Gagnon (New Bedford, Mass.) and O'Malley each scored a pair
of goals for the Panthers.
Eric Delisle (Amherst, N.H.) had 14 saves for KSC while Steve
Valeri finished with 29 saves for PSU.
Keene State plays at Curry College on Thursday (4 p.m.).
