'KEENE, N.H. 4/16/05 - Eric Momnie (South Windsor, Conn.) had
four goals and an assist and Meade McKay (Stratham, N.H.) finished
with two goals and four assists to lead Keene State College to a
15-4 Little East Conference men's lacrosse victory over Western
Conn. State University at Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday.
It was the fifth straight win for KSC (5-4, 4-0), which remains
undefeated and tied for first in the LEC. WCSU falls to 6-3
(2-2 LEC).
The Owls jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first quarter and
held a 9-2 halftime advantage.
Sean Panora (South Windsor, Conn.), D.J. Clattenburg (Concord,
N.H.), and Greg Gonzales (Yorktown Heights N.Y.) had two goals each
and Travis Pedley (Bow, N.H.), Greg Richard (Nashua, N.H.)
and Peter Lauranzano (Beverly, Mass.) added single goals for KSC.
Justin Monroe (Norwalk, Conn.) had two goals and John Stashenko
Norwalk, Conn.) and Jeremy Salley (Norwalk, Conn.) netted single
goals for the Colonials.
Freshman goalie Matt Johnson (Derry, N.H.) had a strong game in
goal for the Owls with 14 saves. Brad Bishop (Brunswick, Me.)
played the last four minutes and made one save.
Scott Fox (Hicksville, Conn.) had eight saves and Chuck Byrne
(New Rochelle, N.Y) finished with three saves for WCSU.
Keene State host Emerson College on Monday (4 p.m.). Western
Conn. plays at Nichols College on Thursday.
