'1/30/07 - Junior David Sontag (Mont Vernon, N.H.) scored eight
of his 19 points in overtime to lead the Keene State College men's
basketball team to a 92-85 victory over Williams College at
Spaulding Gym on Tuesday night.
Keene State, which posted its first win in five tries against
the Ephs, improves to 17-3. Williams (10-10) saw its two game
winning streak come to an end.
The game featured 12 lead changes in the second half.
Sontag hit a free throw with 21 seconds to play to put KSC up
76-73. Chris Rose (Middletown, N.Y.), who finished with 21
points, drained a long three-pointer for the right side to send the
game into overtime.
Sontag connected on the second of his two three-pointers with 29
seconds to play to give KSC a six point (89-83) lead. After a
put back by Blake Schultz (Atherton, Ca.), Anderson hit the second
of his two free throws to make it 95-90. Shiwon Davis
(Bridgeport, Conn.) stole the ball and Sontag hit a pair from the
line to seal the victory.
Nate Anderson (Westminster, Mass.) topped the Owls with 22
points and Tyler Kathan (Ludlow, Vt.) finished with 15 points for
KSC.
Chris Shalvoy (Rochester, N.H.) had 21 points and Joe Geoghegan
(Cape Elizabeth, Me.) pulled down 16 rebounds for the Ephs.
It was the first meeting between the two teams since Williams
defeated the Owls 79-64 in the NCAA New England regional finals.
