Box Score 'KEENE, N.H. 3/31/07 - The Keene State College men's lacrosse
team overcame an early three goal deficit to post a 10-7 victory
over UMass-Dartmouth at Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday. It was
the Little East Conference opener for both teams.
Sophomore attack Tony Santa Fe (Derry, N.H.) had two goals and
four assists to lead the Owls (6-0, 1-0 LEC), who remain
undefeated. Jamie LeSage (Exeter, N.H.), Mike Fontaine
(Wolfeboro, N.H.), Sean Panora (South Windsor, Conn.) and Taylor
Morasutti (Cheshire, Conn.) finished with two goals each for the
Owls.
Freshman attack Andrew Lewis (Longmeadow, Mass.) had three goals
to lead UMass-Dartmouth (3-3, 0-1 LEC). Mark Lapointe (Tyngsboro,
Mass.), Zach Egan (Mansfield, Mass), Matt Swirbalus (Weymouth,
Mass.), and Andrew Getto (Westfield, Mass.) added single goals for
the Corsairs.
Trailing 3-0 early in the second quarter, the Owls scored six
consecutive goals to go up 6-3. Lesage scored two of the Owls
goals during the surge. KSC led 6-4 at halftime.
Keene State scored the first three goals of the third quarter to
go up 9-4.
Keene State Coach Mark Theriault said the team had a let down
after a huge win over Williams. "It's a good wake-up call,"
he said. We were on a high after Williams thinking that it
was going to be an easy win. But it wasn't, we had to earn
it."
Matt Johnson (Derry, N.H.) finished the game with 10 saves for
the Owls. Steve Chase (Boston, Mass.) had 16 saves for
UMD. Craig Britton (Ashland, Mass.) also played in goal for
the Corsairs.
Keene State is at Wheaton College on Tuesday (4 p.m.).
UMass-Dartmouth hosts UMass-Boston on Tuesday.
