CONCORD, N.H. 12/2/08 - The Keene State men's basketball
team continued its undefeated streak at the 9th Annual Jacob's
Bridge Through Autism Basketball Classic at New Hampshire Technical
Institute in Concord on Tuesday night with a 91-56 victory over New
England College.
Winners of four straight games, the Owls (4-2), have won all
nine games they have played in the tournament which began in the
2000-01 season.
Keene State pulled away from the Pilgrims late in the first
half. A tip in by junior guard Bryan O'Leary
(Gilford, N.H.) gave the Owls a 15 point lead (34-19) at the 3:49
mark. A three-pointer by freshman guard Ryan
Bourgeois (Bedford, N.H.) and a lay-up by O'Leary sent KSC
to the locker room with a 47-27 halftime lead.
KSC added to its lead in the second half. A three-pointer
by sophomore guard Seth Stantial (Beverly, Mass.)
made it 66-36 at the 13:14 mark.
O'Leary, who connected on eight of his 11 shots from the field
and three of five attempts from behind the arc, scored a career
high 19 points to lead Keene State.
Freshman guard Tyler Patch (North Attleboro,
Mass.) added 12 points while senior forward Tyler
Kathan (Ludlow, Vt.) had a team high nine rebounds.
The Owls drained 12 of their 28 three-point shots (43%) and
dominated the boards 51-35, including a wide 21-9 advantage off the
offensive glass.
Shane Hennessey had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead New
England College (1-6).
Colby-Sawyer edged Plymouth State 87-83 in the second game of
the tournament.
Keene State travels to Southern Maine on Saturday for its first
Little East game of the season.
