WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. - Keene State's undefeated season came to an
end with a 14-3 loss to Williams College in non-conference men's
lacrosse action in Williamstown on Tuesday.
The Owls (7-1), ranked #17th nationally, had won 21 straight
regular season games, including seven this season, before falling
to the Ephs (5-5).
"We didn't capitalize on our opportunities and they outplayed us in
all facets of the game," said KSC Coach Mark
Theriault. "We ran into a hot goalie and were just
flat. Hopefully it will serve as a wake-up call for us."
Williams scored seven goals before the Owls go on the board.
Jamie Lesage (Exeter, N.H.), Josh
Nugent (Chester, N.H.), Rodney Arganese
(Trumbull, Conn.), and Kevin Donahue (Redding,
Conn.), scored single goals for the Owls, who netted three of
their goals in the fourth quarter.
David Hawley led the Ephs with five goals.
Senior goalie Matt Johnson (Derry, N.H.) had 12
saves before Alec Corliss (Waltham, Mass.) took over for the final
1:39 of the game.
Michael Gerbush stopped 13 shots for Williams.
Keene State plays a key LEC game at Eastern Conn. on
Saturday.
